Eddie Torres
Eddie Torres, aka The Mambo King, the grand master of the on2 dancers, recipient of the first Annual Salsaweb Convention Lifetime Achievement Award. Eddie Torres started his long dance career after failing to impress one of his first love interests with uncoordinated dancing at the age of twelve. At twenty he had managed to gain a reputation as one of the best Latin dancers and started participating in dance competitions. Among his many great accomplishments are his collaborations with the Tito Puente Orchestra, choreographing music videos for El Canario and David Byrne, founding a dance company, performing at Carnegie Hall, the Apollo Theater and Madison Square Garden. For many years he run a dance school together with his wife Maria. Today Eddie Torres still is devoted to his early vision to see Latin dancing evolve to the point of a respected, classic art form. -
Griselle Ponce
Griselle Ponce is one of the most complete and decorated Latin dancers in the world. She is an accomplished choreographer, model and actress with many credits. Known for her exceptional styling on the dance floor and her fierce aggression on the stage, Griselle exudes grace, beauty and charisma and will help you get in touch with your inner diva. With her excellent ability to deliver, her knowledge, and skills in dancing it is guaranteed that her workshops will greatly enhances any students motivation, inspiration, and dance abilities.
An award winning instructor and role model to the Latin Community, Born, July 7th 1979, Griselle was raised absorbing the sounds that emanated in and around the beautiful island of Puerto Rico. Griselle has toured the world extensively nationally and internationally while performing and teaching Salsa in cities and countries all over the world. Currently she is working on many projects in addition to being partnered with World-known "Mambo King", Mr. Eddie Torres. -
Tito & Tamara
Tito and Tamara are masters of Puerto Rican Salsa, having visited more than 75 cities worldwide giving performances and workshops. Both outstanding dancers across many genres including: Jazz, Merengue, "Bomba y Plena", Rumba, Modern Dance among others, they bring an enormous wealth of knowledge to congresses all over the world. Together they have featured in various dance videos and movies including, Dirty Dancing: Havana Nights, Yellow, El Cantante: Hector Lavoe and American Gangster.They have also choreographed for several artists with world-wide reputation such as: Gilberto Santa Rosa, Victor Manuelle, and El Gran Combo de Puerto Rico. -
Adolfo & Carla
Adolfo Indacochea originally from Perú,became a name in Salsa when he moved to New York and was the lead dancer, under his mentor, Eddie Torres. Adolfo’s talent, creative energy and charisma brought him to Europe. His genuine love and passion for Salsa show through his exciting teaching style It is impossible to leave his class without a smile on your face. Always unique and never boring, this performer/instructor is one of the best ambassadors the International Salsa scene has to offer.
Carla Voconi was born in Terramo, Italy. Her dance career started at a very young age with a background in artistic gymnastics and contemporary dance. Carla moved to Milan to be part of Juan Matos’ “Fogarate Dance Project” for a couple of years. By the end of 2007, she started working for “Tropical Gem” being part of the first “Fantasia Musical”. Carla has performed in the top European congresses. In January 2008 she began performing with Adolfo Indacochea. -
Osbanis & Anneta
Osbanis was born in Granma, Cuba and came to London in 2002incorporated in his style the street Cuban salsa – casino. This internationally known dancer artist, musician, teacher, choreographer & performer is the 2004 World Rueda Champion, 2003 UK Cuban Salsa Champion.
Anneta was born in Poland, was the 2008 IDO World Ladies Salsa Shines Champion and 2006 UK Salsa Champion. She started dancing in Poland at the age of 10 with ballroom and latin dance. She has studied various forms of dance: R&B, hip-hop and street dance. Now together they are travelling around the world with their aim to share their Deakocan spirit, and to inspire the dancers to dance Deakocan, to dance from the heart and enjoy what Cuban dances has to offer. -
Paula & Ricardo
Paula & Ricardo of Afrolatin Connection (Portugal), are one of most sought after Kizomba couples in the world. Paula Loureiro and Ricardo Sousa dance together as partner since 2000 and they are artistic director, choreographers and dancers of this Afrolatin Connection dance company. They are also official judges of the international kizomba competition “Africadançar”. They have also performed and taught at many salsa and kizomba congresses worldwide. -
Falco & Virginia
Falco is a dancer of Afro-Jazz, Contemporary Dance, Salsa and other Latin rhythms. Despite his young age is a well known dancer in Europe and is considered one of the best dancers in Paris.
Virginia has been most of her life tied to the world of dance. She belonged to the group and Ballet Dancers Rivendell Universe Dancers. After meeting in Paris in 2005, they became the dance partner and together they conduct tours throughout Europe, the United States and Latin America. -
BNF
BNF is a dance company originally from Medellin, Colombia. It's established in Medellin in 2000, and the first international branch was opened in Dubai in 2007 and second branch in Abu Dhabi in 2010.
BNF is known for the excellent dancers and as one of the top dance schools. BNF dancers continuously win numerous prizes in famous competitions as solo, pair, and a team. In 2010, BNF team became the World Champion in the International Salsa Cup in USA. BNF dancers are constantly invited for international performances from countries as close as Oman to the Far East in Japan and USA. -
Yamulee
Yamulee is one of the most significant representatives of the original NY-Salsa style . The Director of Yamulee Dance Company is Osmar Perrones. Osmar aimed to usher in the new era of mambo in a jubilant fashion. Their philosophy is having the best time you can possibly have while learning the latest salsa moves. -
Ataca & La Alemana
Ataca Jorgie Jorge “ATACA Jorgie” Burgos is from Puerto Rican decent and naturally, dance has been a huge part in his life. He began his professional dance career in 2006, and has since won over the hearts of thousands of dancers with his charismatic smile and wonderful dancing ability and style. Along with Tanja “La Alemana”, he has traveled the world performing at various Bachata and Salsa festivals including: Poland, France, Belgium, Bermuda, England, and all over the United States. They even have performed for Bachata artists such as Toby Love and Xtreme. Jorge is not only known for his unbelievable dancing ability, style, and charismatic smile, but also for his incredible teaching ability. His classes are always filled with not only great instruction that is easy to follow, but with high energy and lots of laughter. Some are great dancers, and others great instructors – Jorge is both.
Tanja La Alemana Tanja “La Alemana” Kensinger began her dancing career in April of 2005, and has since made a name for herself in the Salsa & Bachata dance communities. With her partner, Jorge Burgos (ATACA Jorgie), they have become one of the most recognizable couples in the Bachata scene. Their world famous routine to “Te Extrano” by Xtreme, has taken the Bachata world by storm. Tanja’s dance background includes training in Ballet, Jazz, Tap, and Ballroom; she commands the dance floor on and off stage with her high energy and infectious smile.
